Lessons of God’s Will from the Life of Jesus

Introduction

Jesus is the only man who walked on earth and was able to do God’s will perfectly. Therefore He and His life is the best model from which we can learn.

Our lives will not be eventful like His life. Even then, in the quiet corners of our room or in the busy offices; in the kitchen or in the market place, it is possible to know and do God’s will.

This article focuses on certain principles from the life of Jesus that help us understand God’s will for our lives. These are general principles. If you can steer your boat by these guidelines given, many frustrations in life can have a meaningful conclusion. In other words it can have a God-directed end.

The Bible encourages us to do God’s will. For example, “The world and its desire pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever” (1 John 2:17 NIV). And as an encouragement to pray, it is written: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us” (1 John 5:14 NIV).

Therefore it is highly desirable to know God’s will and live by it. And the life of Jesus will help us understand how to know God’s will and act according to it.
